NO SURPRISES ACT
Federal Hearings and Appeals Services, Inc. (FHAS) has been certified by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Treasury to serve as independent dispute resolution entity (IDRE) in the federal independent dispute resolution process between providers, facilities or providers of air ambulance services and group health plans, health insurance issuers and Federal Employees Health Benefits program carriers.
Starting January 1, 2022, if a provider or facility and a health plan can’t agree on the payment amount for an out-of-network service covered by No Surprises rules, FHAS can be selected to make a payment determination.
With over 25 years of arbitration and claims adjudication experience, FHAS has an established and proven track record of furnishing dispute services free of any conflicts of interest.
